Abstract:

This report looks at public workforce development programs in the United States such as the Employment Service (ES), the Workforce Investment Act Dislocated Worker program, and the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). As part of the Future of Work@50+ Initiative, it focuses on programs for older workers. Topics include employment services, job training programs, incentives and subsidies, and job creation. Policy options to improve workforce development programs for older workers are also suggested.
